ESTELL MANOR VETERANS CEMETERY.
HONORING THE MEMORY OF FREDERICK STEELMAN, JAPHETH IRELAND, ELIAS SMITH, DANIEL STEELMAN AND OTHERS BURIED HERE, WHICH WE OF THE COL. RICHARD SOMERS CHAPTER S A R HAVE TAKEN ON AS OUR REPSONSIBILITY.

PRESENTING THE MEMORIAL WREATH: DUE TO A PROBLEM WITH TICK INFESTATION IN THE PARK AREA, THE WREATH PRESENTATION WAS CANCELLED.

ADDRESS: REV THOMAS SPOKE TO THE GROUP REMINDING US THAT “TODAY IS THE SADEST DAY OF THE YEAR”. MEMORIAL DAY HONORS THE MEN AND WOMEN OF OUR NATIONS ARMED FORCES THAT GAVE THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE. STARTING WITH OUR PATRIOT ANCESTORS DURING THE REVOLUTION AND SADLY CONTINUING TO TODAY. REV THOMAS THEN REVIEWED THE HISTORY OF THE IMPROVEMENTS THAT HAD BEEN MADE IN THE PARK AREA, INCLUDING PAVED ROADS AND CLEARED WOODS, THAT THE CHAPTER WAS INSTRUMENTAL IN BRINGING ABOUT.

CLOSING PRAYER: SOMERS CORSON, CHAPLIN

RECONVENE AT SMITH-IRELAND GRAVE SITE. DUE TO THE TICK INFESTATION, NO SERVICES WERE HELD AT THE SMITH-IRELAND GRAVE SITE.
