The United States Army, Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps, Cadet Awards Ceremony and Military Ball held on May 2, 2015 at the Pleasantville High School Cafeteria in Pleasantville, New Jersey. Representing the Colonel Richard Somers Chapter, Sons of the American Revolution was William F. Schmitz, Major, United States Air Force, (ret). The school detachment was represented by Ronald M. Tuczak, Lieutenant Colonel, United States Army, (ret) Senior Instructor and First Sergeant Larry White, United States Army (ret) Assistant Instructor.


Major Schmitz presents Cadet First Sergeant Maia Robinson with the Bronze ROTC Medal and

Certificate as the Outstanding Cadet for 2015 from the "Greyhound" detachment.



Major Schmitz presents Sgt. White with the SAR Bronze Good Citizenship Medal and

Certificate for his service to the school and students for the past 20 years as one of the instructors. He is retiring from teaching after having also served on active duty in the US Army for 20 years. His young son looks on.

On May 3rd Cadet Jose Vivenes-Santos received the National Society, Sons of the American Revolution Bronze ROTC Medal from Compatriot William F. Schmitz.  In attendance was US Army First Sergeant (ret.) Larry J. White.

Cadet Alvado Perdomo was presented with the Sons of the American Revolution Bronze Outstanding Cadet Medal.  Major William F. Schmitz, USAF (ret) made the presentation at the Pleasantville High School Annual Greyhound Army Detachment Ball.  Cadet Perdomo was judged by his instructors be the best in all aspects of the established criteria
May 7, 2011 ROTC
Cadet Captain William Orellana was selected by his instructors to receive the SAR Bronze Junior ROTC medal for 2011 from the JROTC Detachment at the Pleasantville High SChool. HIs selection was based on the established criteria of military and academic scholarship, as well as the qualities of discipline, coutesy, character and ond other consistent demonstrations of potential qualities as an officer.

The presentation was made at the Detachment's Annual Military Ball held at Pleasantville High School, May 7, 2011. Captain Orellana's Senior Instruxtor, First Sergeant Larry White, USA (ret) looks on proudly.
